This eco-tour like itinerary will take you to the natural region of Saintlouis and Sinesaloum while giving you the chance to discover the hidden marvels of these locations.

Suggested itinerary:

Day 1:

Arrive at Leopold Sedar Senghor International Airport Dakar, Senegal. Diallo Tours Services will meet and transfer you to one of Dakar’s small nice hotels such as Brazzerade hotel or similar. Stay overnight and possibly enjoy Dakar nightlife by attending a nightclub, café or concert. Bed and breakfast.

Day 2:

Start in the morning with a transfer to Lac Rose (pink lake) which was the finishing line of the famous Paris-Dakar Rally. Lac Rose was born from a lagoon but now closed by a movement of dunes along the sea in the fifteenth century. The pink color of the lake is explained by the presence of some algae in the water giving it a pinkish color especially when the sun is straight. The large salinity (380g/liter) places Lac Rose second after the Dead Sea; so everything floats on it. Later you will stop to visit the numerous salt collectors of the salty lake then continue to Saint Louis. Stopping to visit a Wolof village along the way, you arrive in the evening and check in 3 star hotel in Saintlouis.

Day 3:

Start the morning by visiting one of the bird parks of that region and enjoy a boating tour in Djoudj Park or Langue de Barbarie Park depending on the season to watch the various bird species. These parks are home to an abundant variety of migrant birds: pelicans, gulls, cormorants, mocking, royal and Caspian terns, egrets, teals, lapwings, spurred sandpipers, flamingos, herons and ibis. Return to Saint Louis around midday. Take a city tour in the afternoon on a horse cab to discover the history of Saint Louis Island and see impressive living areas of the local fishermen. Overnight at the same hotel.

Day 4:

Morning check out and drive tothe Ferlo Sahahelian region, then visit the biggest mosque in West Africa: Touba Mosque. Continuation to the SineSaloum region and visitKaolack crowded colorful market one of the biggest local markets in Senegal and arrive in the evening at Toubacouta village near the Gambia border. Overnightin one of its nice lodge hotels (Keur Saloum lodge hotel or similar, located near the Delta of the Sinesaloum River.

Day 5:

In the morning start with a boat tour aboard a motorized pirogue to discover the beautiful landscape of the Delta of Sinesaloum River with its natural and beautiful mangroves; then visit Sipo Mandica village near the river and have a short walking tour down to the ecolodge of Keur Bamboung and arrive there around 10:am.The rest of the day will be dedicated to exploring the Marine Protected area of the Bamboung by taking part in some some localactivities like: Eco walking tour,Kanoye Kayak ride in the river, fishing or have cultural visits to the nearby villages. Overnight at the ecolodge.

Day 6:

Check out in the morning and walk back to Sipo and take the motorized pirogue for a ride down to the birds island. Then visit Missirah village with its sacred tree and typical fishing dock. Continuation to Palmarin villages and check in Collines de Niassam lodge.

Day 7:

In the morning you will visit the Marlodj island village and transfer by your vehicle to visit Joal-Fadiouth village to learn about the rich culture of the local Serere ethnic group. You will visit along the way Mbour handicraft and fish market Check in one of Mbour or Saly lodges. Overnight

Day 8:

Check out and transfer to the airport (84 km drive). End of the tour. End of the tour.
