Step in Senegal 8 day Tour: (2026-27)

This tour is a good start to explore Senegal.After Dakar the capital city of Senegal you will travel towards the north of the country and discover the old charming city of Saintlouis listed in the UNESCO World heritage sites.The trip continues towards   the natural region of Sinesaloum in the central west of the country. You will have a chance to discover the hidden marvels of these locations.

Suggested itinerary:

Day 1: Airport pick up and Transfer to Dakar

Arrival at Diass Blaise Diagne International Airport Dakar.Meet and greet with your tour guide. Then transfer by vehicle  to one of Dakar  hotels.Check in hotel Le Ndiambour or similar. Bed & breakfast.

Day 2 : Dakar city Tour + Goree island

Start at 9 :00 am for your visit to Goree island and discover this charming island that was one of the West Africa slave trade center.You will visit the slave house museum and learn more about the West Africa slavery history.

Return back to Dakar for an afternoon city tour and enjoy a sighseeing across the city center viewing the Presidential palace, the independance square garden,the Chamber of commerce, the old rail station, past colonial buildings, the Cathedral.You will stop and visit some handycraft markets and the huge of Monument of Africa Renaissance.Return in the late evening to your hotel.Bed & Breakfast.

Day 3 : Dakar-Lac Rose- Saintlouis

Start at 9 :00 am  with a transfer to Lac Rose (pink lake) which was the finishing line of the famous Paris-Dakar Rally.The pink color of the lake is explained by the presence of some algae in the water giving it a pinkish color especially when the sun is straight. The large salinity (380g/liter) places Lac Rose second after the Dead Sea; so everything floats on it. You will  visit the numerous salt harvestors of this salty lake and  continue to Saint Louis. You will visit a Wolof village along the way, and arrive in the evening. Check in 3 star hotel in Saintlouis. Bed & breakfast.

Day 4 : Birds Parc excursion + Saintlouis city tour

 Start the morning by visiting one of the bird parks of that region and enjoy a boating tour in Djoudj Park or Langue de Barbarie Park depending on the season to watch the various bird species. These parks are home to an abundant variety of migrant birds: pelicans, gulls, cormorants, mocking, royal and Caspian terns, egrets, teals, lapwings, spurred sandpipers, flamingos, herons and ibis. Return to Saint Louis around midday. Take a city tour in the afternoon on a horse cab to discover the history of Saint Louis Island and see impressive living areas of the local fishermen. Overnight at the same hotel.

Day 5 : Saintlouis-Touba-Kaolack-Toubakouta

Check out at 8 :00 am and drive towards the Ferlo Sahelian region and visit the biggest mosque in Senegal: Touba Mosque. Continuation to the SineSaloum delta region and visit Kaolack crowded colorful market one of the biggest local markets in Senegal and arrive in the evening at Toubacouta village near the Gambia border. Check in one of its nice lodge hotels (Keur Saloum lodge hotel or similar, located near the Delta of the Sinesaloum River). Bed & breakfast.

Day 6 : Boat tour and relax

In the morning start with a boat tour aboard a motorized pirogue to discover the beautiful landscape of the Delta of Sinesaloum River with its natural beautiful mangroves. Return to the hotel around Midday. Free time for the rest of the day. Bed & Breakfast at the same hotel.

Day 7 : Toubakouta-Mbour-Saly

Check out at 11 :00 am and drive towards Mbour city and visit its colorful fish market and fishing dock.Transfer to Saly. Check in a 3 star hotel.Bed & breakfast.

Day 8 :  Transfer to airport.

Check out and transfer to the international airport (30 mn drive).

End of the trip.
