Sen-Gambia: 14days tour / 2014/2015.

Through this tour you will experience Senegal; a wonderful exotic country as well as Gambia highlights.

Suggested Itinerary:

Day 1:

Arrive at Dakar international airport .We meet you and transfer you to one of Dakar hotels. Check in hotel Alfifa 4star or similar. Overnight. (Possibility to enjoy Dakar nightlife with its nightclubs, cafes, concerts…) Bed and breakfast.

Day 2:

Check out in the morning and transfer to Lac Rose. Around 9:30 am you will get on 4 X 4 pick up for a tour around the lake following the last tour of the rally Paris-Dakar. You will stop to visit the salt collectors of that salty lake. Continuation to Saintlouis. Visit Thies Museum and local market along the way. Check in a 3 star hotel in Saintlouis. Dinner + BB.

Day 3:

In the morning you will visit one of the birds’ parks of that region. You will enjoy a boating ride in the park of Djoudj or the park of the Langue de Barbarie according to the season to watch the various birds’ species. This park is home to an abundant variety of migrant bird species: pelicans, gulls mocking, cormorants, royal and Caspian terns, egrets, teals, lapwings spurred sandpipers, flamingos, herons, ibis... Transfer back to Saint-Louis around midday. In the afternoon you will have a Saintlouis city tour on horse cab and visit its art craft market. Overnight in the same hotel. Dinner + BB.

Day 4:

Free Morning. Transfer in the afternoon to Lompoul desert. Visit a local Wolof village. Overnight in Camp du desert lodge located at the heart of this exotic location of sand dunes. Dinner +BB

Day 5:

In the morning you will enjoy a camel ride experience (15mn ride) and transfer towards the ferlo Sahelian region. Visit Touba holy city with its impressive mosque and drive towards Kaolack capital city of the SineSaloum region. Check in Hotel Le Relais de Kaolack or similar. Dinner + BB

Day 6:

Check out at 9: am and transfer To Gambia. Visit Wassu stone circle and check in Baobolong lodge. Dinner +BB

Day 7:

In the morning you will embark on a local boat for a wonderful Gambia River cruise. You will visit Baboon Island during your cruise. Overnight onboard with all meals included.

Day 8:

Arrival at Tendaba in the afternoon and Check in Tendaba Camp lodge. Dinner + BB.

Day 9:

Transfer to Banjul in the morning and enjoy a city tour to visit Banjul main highlights: Gambia national Museum, Serecounda Market, Mama Dye factory, sacred crocodile pool… Check in Laico hotel 4star or similar.

Day 10:

You will visit the Abuko Park about 45 minutes from most hotels, The Gambia's only Nature Reserve comprising of approximately 200 acres of thick tropical woodland. The trip takes you on a 2.9 km walk through this dense jungle intermittently stopping along the way to observe the rich bird life in addition to the red colobus and green velvet monkeys which inhabit the place. Right in the middle of the Reserve is the enclosure, which houses some monkeys, antelopes, and hyenas. We will spend about 2 hours in The Reserve. From Abuko Nature Reserve we drive to Tandji village Museum and learn more about Gambia’s culture. Transfer back in the afternoon to your hotel. Dinner +BB

Day 11:

Enjoy extra excursion to the Juffureh village where the last remaining relatives of the Kinteh family live. Visiting this village, made famous by Alex Haley in his book, “Roots”, you will have a chance to chat with the local chief, meet the village people, visit the local museum and James Island, a centre of the slave trade. Transfer back in the afternoon to your hotel. Dinner +BB

Day 12:

Fly back to Dakar. Overnight in hotel Le virage or similar. Bed and breakfast. . (Possibility to enjoy Dakar nightlife with its nightclubs, cafes, concerts…)

Day 13:

Dakar city tour and Goree island excursion. Bed and breakfast in the same hotel.

Day 14:

Day off.

Day 15:

Transfer to Dakar international airport.

End of the Tour.
